Describe your product specifications and packaging requirements. The below questions can be used as a guide.

Make an assessment of one or two suitable packaging options for your product.

  • is it moist, wet or liquid and needs to be protected against leakage?
  • is it fresh and needs to be protected against moisture loss?
  • is it dried and needs to be protected against moisture?
  • does it spoil quickly and need to be protected against microbes?
  • does it need to be protected from UV-light or heat?
  • is it oily and needs a special seal or be protected agains oxidation (rancidity)?
  • does it nead to be pasteurized or sterilized?
  • is it fragile and needs to be protected against crushing or breaking?
  • does it need to be stored under cool conditions?
  • does packaging or transportation cost play a big role for your business model?
  • do your customers expect a high-quality or eco-friendly packaging?
  • is the volume of stored packaging material an issue in your facility?
