Find a traditional fermented food from your region

Go investigate! Which foods from your region might be produced by using microorganisms? Choose a food product, which is the result of either alcoholic or lactic acid fermentation and research a recipe that describes the fermentation process. These can be fermented dairy products, leavend breads, alcoholic beverages or fermented vegetables/condiments. You can find some in the glossary section or download a list of examples compiled by other students below, to help you think in the right direction. Find a food that is typical or traditional in your region. Upload a picture and description below. Include information on the Region/origion/tradition, main ingredients and production process. If possible also try to name the microbial processes involved. We are curious to find out more about the foods from around the world!
